The actual store part of this PetSmart is good, but I have reservations about the grooming part of the store, at least how it was six years ago. Our dog returned home to us after his only time being groomed there absolutely terrified to let anyone try to cut his nails. Prior to that visit our dog had no issue with anyone touching or prodding his feet or nails as well as having his nails cut by my dad who was with us when we adopted our dog.
I went in just to let my 17 month old look at the animals. which he had a blast! the store is extremely clean. The employees were at every Pet Station cleaning out their cages.. the employees were extremely nice too! I would come back again just to sightsee and be a potential customer!
This place is great other than one specific groomer. Half the time we take our dog there the staff is excellent and our dog comes home looking awesome. This last time though our dog was getting snippy and the groomer wouldn't take scissors around her eyes. Instead of leaving that fur alone she shaved off 80% of her fur with clippers and now my dog looks like a moron. Needless to say we'll make sure that particular groomer isn't working during our next appointment because she is incompetent. Props to the rest of the staff though.
Our dog has since only had his nails cut or been groomed by All American Grooming which both my wife and I as well as our dog absolutely love. The owner of All American Grooming is also the owner of Avon Veterinarian Clinic who is also our dog's Vet. (On a side note, a few years ago Dr. M created an oral drug concoction that helped save the life of one of our Chinchillas, which had started biting the fur off his arms and basically anywhere he could reach which caused infections and inflammation etc.) Our dog is still very sensitive about anyone trying to trim or buff his nails so whatever happened at the PetSmart grooming has stayed with him for 6 years even with great service at All American Grooming.
