Regardless, the park is incredible. It's beautiful and you should go there. I have nearly every weekend for three years now and I'm still not bored of it.
This park is nice for running or walking, and has a great hill for running too! It's always beautiful here and with two full loop trails and one down and back through a wooded area you won't get bored on your walk. There are two separate play areas for children, Frisby golf, and ping ping tables. Unfortunately, there are only one set up drinking fountains by the main park. It would be nice to have one at the other park and maybe on the trail. No trash cans either.
Frisbee Golf. Yes, the entire park is a big frisbee golf course. People are always playing, 100% of the time, everywhere. If you're into it, this is wonderful for you, and is probably a great way to spend active time with your friends and family. Unfortunately, the golfers usually decide they take preference over the pedestrians. If you stray off the path into the grass or woods, you will likely find yourself ducking frisbees or getting mean looks from players who are there to play and you're in the way. I really wish there was an active attitude of pedestrian priority as it should be.
This is a good place to walk your dogs after it's been raining as the trails are paved. They treat the grass, so I don't let mine walk in it if I see pellets. Looks like there is a decent Frisbee Golf course too.
It's a nice place I really enjoyed the time I was there, everything is clean and they have 2 grill nice to cook outside. Think this place is very nice to celebrate a birthday and you don't have to pay a lot of money, but you have to book it with time ahead.
One of my favorite parks in the Hendricks County area. It use to be a pay lake when I was a kid. Fishing is still really good. Need to crack down on the Mexicans on keeping the fish! The grounds crew is constantly working to make the park cleaner and a better place for everyone. There is one of the best frisbee golf courses around with 9 holes on open land and 9 holes that goes thru heavily wooded area!
I'm certain this is the best park in Indiana. It's not a "nature trail"/hiking style park. It's a very open, breezy and casual place with wide-open fields of grass, a wooded area and a lake. It's easy to just walk around in circles for hours and hours and even has a direct walking path to Avon Public Library. There are two play areas for kids (off the main trails thank goodness), an RC car track and outdoor grills. It's a beautiful, relaxing place and a wonderful scene of beauty in the middle of the city suburbs.
